I have a question to couples out there. How do you meet in the middle in decorating your shared space? I mean how much you ladies allow his masculinity on your wall colors, bedsheet pattern, curtain design, furniture choice. And how deep you, guys, can push into your feminine side in your home? I have always been wondering if I were to marry a guy who is also into decorating. Will I be a pushover who compromise with all his style even in my favorite space of our house? Or will I man up. Wear the pants. Mark my territory everywhere I please around the house. Here are some masculine design ideas that I can get by. Maybe it could give us ladies some ideas just in case our other half is also a decor geek.
30 Therapy
Check this out. Apartment Therapy did a post about oversized mirror too (see ours)! It's a piece written by their shopping editor, Jason Loper who has been kind enough to share the prices and where to get them. Posted under his many Resource Guide column, this particular 'Full Length Floor Mirrors' article talks about functionality and a helpful safety tip not to take the safely-leaning-on-the-wall position of the mirror for granted but still to go on mount it any way you can. We are glad that Apartment Therapy agree with us that oversized mirror is something to be blog about exclusively. Looks like we have some design flavor in common, huh? Here are some of Jason's recommendations. I'm not sure if we can find oversized mirrors here in Malaysia for under MYR200.00. Maybe you can let us know if you know where to get one. Hovet here is MYR349.00
Tall, Grande Mirror
Do you agree that a grand piece of statement in a room will actually make the room look even grander? After knowing it firsthand upon completing a bedroom project, I, for one very much agree with it. And I think this does apply to every size of room and space. Right now I'm looking for a perfect oversized mirror to lean against my bedroom wall. Not only for the obvious functionality, but also for the fact that it will reflect another space and the blown up size that takes up half the wall will take away the feeling of being trapped in a four-wall square.
Do Mess With My Head
Imagine getting lost in these layered mess. Especially in this cold and wet November weather. Just the perfect excuse to just staying in cuddling in between the sheets. Even if that means it's just you and your 20- year-old bolster.
Project Thrifty
This old coffee table has been pushed here and there around the house for quite sometime now since my mother bought a new teak credenza to replace it. Last it was stranded in my sister's room as a desk where she put her iMac. Now that she went to live in Penang, the poor coffee table serves no use again. I took it out and thought I'd do something with it. For now I just repaint it. And let it sit in my room. Maybe one of these days I will find a purpose for it.
